A distinct chill in the evenings signals the beginning of the end of what has been an undoubtedly dramatic few months; sky high temperatures interspersed with flash floods have not been easy for the sartorially conscious of us. Even so, no one can deny the general sense of positivity that comes from baring all for a few golden rays, and our tendency towards nostalgia has already coloured every day spent in shorts with a warm honey glow. So with the relaxed, sun bleached smiles of a summer well loved, it is easy enough to accept the natural progression of the seasons.
Isabel Marant led the Autumn deliveries with boxes bursting full of printed chiffon and picnic blanket checks that make for ideal autumn layering. As with every one of Marant's collections, the one trait that shines through is her understanding of how clothes should make us feel as much as how they make us look. The perfect balance of sexy, cool and comfortable keeps us coming back for more.
Humanoid do not disappoint, easing us in to the new collection with their signature simplicity, this time in a cool, crisp palette to keep us fresh through the coming months. This season feels decidedly more 'grown up' with a certain sense of sophistication running throughout. The phrase 'less is more' comes to mind as the basic combination of beautiful fabric and fantastic cut leaves little else to be said.
